Door County Bride-To-Be — Countdown: 3 WeeksMay 22nd, 2013 by Jackie - 2 Comments - Leave a CommentThree weeks to go! Hoo boy! I do have to say that I’m better today than I was last week. The tea tree oil is really helping my skin, my weight is holding steady, and I’ve decided that anyone who hasn’t responded by now isn’t coming. So there. I also found a super-fun guest “book” that we’ll use. Have you seen the thumbprint trees? I found on Etsy a company that will send you a custom PDF of a tree with branches and no leaves, in your wedding colors. You simply supply ink pads in the colors you want (and some baby wipes with which guests can clean their hands). Gusts then put a stamp of their thumbprint on a branch, like a leaf, and sign their name next to it. Boom–a frame-able wedding memento that we’ll be able to enjoy for years to come. Here’s what it looks like:
This is about as DIY as I get. I feel now as if I’ve appropriately left my “fingerprint” on this wedding. (I’m so punny.) Other super-cute takes on this idea exist: bride and groom clutching “balloons,” the tandem bicycle being lifted by “balloons,” etc. Has anyone else done (or is anyone thinking of doing) something fun in lieu of the traditional guest book?

I was just looking at these on Etsy last night for our wedding in September! It’s a super cute idea…let us know how it turns out!
For our guest books, we put together photo books through Picaboo of both our engagement and destination wedding photos. We left lots of space and a few fun pages with comments, questions or phrases for the guests to write, answer and fill in. We got married on the beach with only our parents and are having a big celebration with all family and friends this summer in Door County.
