Bride’s Story … We chose Door County because we both love going there! We have a love for the water and boating so it was only natural that we would choose a place to get married near the water. My family is from Michigan and Matt’s is from the Green Bay/Luxemburg area so it was really important to us that our traveling guests would have an easy time getting around. Stone Harbor Resort was perfect! We were able to have the outdoor ceremony in the courtyard and then walk right over to the reception. Stone Harbor did a wonderful job! Jane and Nancy did a fabulous job helping us coordinate everything. I would highly recommend Stone Harbor to anyone.

In between the wedding and reception, both of our parents graciously invited all of the guests to their suites for snacks and cocktails before the reception began. We had a chance to spend time with our guests before all of the activities of the evening began. Being Memorial Day weekend, a lot of guests chose to stay overnight and some made it a weekend getaway with their families and spent Sunday and Monday exploring Door County. :)

All of the centerpieces we put together ourselves! We ordered white Orchids from Econo Foods. We borrowed 2 foot tall vases and then my husband and his dad built wood boxes to go underneath and we bought LED lights to fit under the vases, illuminating the orchids all night!

We also put together the candy bar ourselves using different size glass containers. We had 10 different types of candies all together. We put brown and green ribbon around each glass container and glued labels in the front to indicated what type of candy was in each vase. Each guest had a brown labeled box at their seat to fill up with candy and take home.

It was a wonderful day celebrating with our family and friends…one we will truly remember as the best day of our lives!!

A few other details from the Bride …

Mini-honeymoon: We stayed at the Eagle Harbor Inn – Ephraim, WI for a few days after our wedding and it was the perfect place to get away after a hectic weekend.

Hotel Favors: We purchased small bottles of Wedding Wine from the Door Peninsula Winery … each guest who stayed at Stone Harbor for the wedding received one when they checked-in along with a Guide to Door County.

Rehearsal Dinner: We had our rehearsal dinner at Door Peninsula Winery in their wine bar and the outdoor deck. It was so great! Would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fun place.

Food: Stone Harbor Resort – We had 3 choices: 1) Prime Rib, 2) Door County Chicken 3) Lasagna

Our song: Marry Me by Train

Dad and my song: Never Alone by Jim Brickman featuring Sara Evans

Matt and mom song: You’re the Inspiration by Chicago
