Real Door County Wedding — Beachy Country Wedding

This gorgeous wedding is almost too much to take in. From the decadent, textural flowers to the bevy of wonderful treats at the dessert table, you can’t help but fall in love! And a personal favorite of mine is the dark purple and long lacey veil and dress. It’s pure romance, Door County style.

From the Bride … I LOVE Door County. It holds such a special place in my heart. I grew up vacationing there and now my parents live in Sister Bay.

Our wedding was incredible! Keith and I live in Connecticut, so planning a wedding a 1000 miles away was not the easiest. Carrie Baldwin and Megan O’Meara of Door County Events were wonderful – they made suggestions on everything and would run around taking photos of potential ceremony sites to sent our way. When Megan O’Meara sent the photos of Beach Park in Egg Harbor, Keith ran around showing everyone, “THIS is where I’m marrying Meg!”

Tonda, owner of Mission Grille, was incredible – she worked with Keith and me to create a menu with in season food to help keep our carbon footprint on the small side. Her staff has catered several events at Woodwalk – and have a grill there so our food was made on site (absolutely delicious).

Pink Bakery did a dessert buffet for us instead of a cake – which was incredibly delicious. Allin and Margaret of Woodwalk Gallery were exceptional hosts and encouraged the children to play in the field and people to walk through the art galleries.

Helen of Flora’s did the bouquets and boutonnieres, which were beautiful and captured the feel we wanted. The tuxes were rented from Concepts Bridal and Formal in Sturgeon Bay.

And I cannot say enough wonderful things about Erin. I felt like I had known her forever when Keith and I first met her for our engagement shoot. She is full of awesome energy and captures the feeling of the moment. She loves photography and it’s first and foremost an art for her.
