Door County Real Wedding — Outdoor Spring Waterview Wedding

Here is a beautiful May wedding set in Egg Harbor overlooking the Bay of Green Bay through majestic tall trees. Bridgette and Todd chose sweeping vistas for their backdrop and a simple color palette of grays, creams, and pinks. The big, abundant pink peonies carried down the isle matched Bridgette’s big smile, and as you look through the photos shared below, you can see the fun and love shared between the two.
From the Bride … We wanted a small, intimate wedding surrounded by the love of our family and close friends. The Landmark, garden terrace, was the perfect location for our ceremony and we chose the Landmark Resort because it was the site of our engagement and had special meaning to us. I wanted our wedding to be intimate and romantic and I tried to keep things pretty simple, yet elegant. The outdoor ceremony was followed by a cocktail hour, dinner and dancing all held at The Landmark Resort. As a favor, we made little baggies of chocolate covered Door County cherries from Lautenbach’s Winery with a note “Thank you for sharing in our fun as we become Mr. & Mrs. Hermanson.”
From the very beginning, every interaction we had with Door County vendors was a very pleasant one.
The bridal party all went to / Hair: First Impressions Hair Studio in Sturgeon Bay for hair, and I also had my makeup done there. The staff was extremely friendly, and had breakfast snacks and mimosa’s waiting for us! We had such a wonderful morning with these ladies and I would highly recommend them to any bride looking for a hairstylist!
The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Michael Brekke, from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Juddville. We met with Pastor Michael on one of our few trips to Door County during the planning of our wedding. We knew instantly that he was a great fit for us, with his sense of humor and passion for sharing his wisdom and lessons of marriage with young couples, we hit it off right away.
Helen from Flora of Sister Bay was our Florist — she put together the most beautiful peony bouquets! Loved them!
Sarah at FlourGirl Patissier made our cake — which was amazing! Made from scratch Vanilla-Almond cake with raspberry jam and toasted almond buttercream as well as lemon poppy seed with lemon curd.
Lars Braschnewitz from Music Masters (Sturgeon Bay) provided our music entertainment – which was great because we were able to select songs ahead of time and create a list of our special songs on his website as well.
The staff at The Landmark Resort was wonderful and made sure all of the details were taken care of in time for our big day (their first wedding of the 2012 season). Including fresh asphalt, new restrooms and detailed landscaping!
Our photographer was Jason Mann. Jason went above and beyond to make sure our day was special. He worked with us to get all of the photos we wanted and planted the idea in our head to get away together for awhile to take pictures. We left the Landmark for about an hour to take pictures off site — just the two of us. What a great idea! It was wonderful to enjoy time with each other while Jason captured these great moments. Jason was a pleasure to work with — made smiling for all those pictures much less painful! He even put together a slide show picture frame for the reception filled with great moments he captured throughout the day!
We had an extraordinary day and I could go on and on I’m sure. But I truly believe part of what made our day so special is all the wonderful people we worked with in Door County. Door County is a special place because of people like them.
