Door County Bride-To-Be — DJ? Check.

After going to the Winter Wedding Show in Green Bay, I had the opportunity to meet many different DJ services available to service the Door County area. To me, a lot of them seemed to present the same story, hand out the same materials, and offer the same services. By the end of my walk through the show, I was sick of being cornered by pushy DJ’s, and had no idea how I was going to pick a DJ that I knew I could trust, especially since the entertainment is one of the top things that people remember at a wedding.

After the show, I went home and looked at all their websites, and my feelings were still the same. They all had amazing reviews, awesome testimonials, and they all claimed to be “#1,” but sorry, but not EVERYONE can be number one. Maybe I’m just overly cautious, but I don’t trust everything I see on the web. I kind of put finding the DJ on the backburner for a few days because it was getting frustrating, but then my dad mentioned something about the DJ that my brother had at his wedding in Baraboo, WI. I hadn’t really thought of it before since he is based out of Portage, but I remembered how the DJ had really gotten the guests involved, and how smoothly the whole night went. I didn’t know this, but my dad even told me he was so impressed with  the DJ that he asked him if he would come to Door County for my wedding someday… and that was over two years ago!

I decided to send Bob Viking and the Party People DJ’s an email, and got a very quick response from them asking for my mailing address and some more information. A few days later, I received a whole packet of information from them in the mail that included a very thorough description of all their services, testimonials, industry statistics, the whole 9-yards. He customized the letter for my exact needs and was very helpful in following up his information with emails afterwards. In his letter, he showcases that 80% of his clients are based off of references from other brides, or people who attended a wedding that he was at. Now that is a good review!

Another thing that I like about Bob Viking is that he totally focuses on making the night exactly how I want it. He customizes the music, the lighting, and really gets the crowd involved to whatever extent you choose. His packages even include a mini-vacation for the bride and groom! He’s got a ton of experience, and more LEGIT reviews and references than I can count. After talking with him on the phone the other day, I am even more impressed with his friendly and genuine personality, and desire to make my day as perfect as possible. Even though his prices are a little higher than the competition, I would rather pay more to have someone who I can trust, and that can provide me with a stress-free wedding day. Overall, I am very happy and comfortable to be booking Bob Viking and the Party People DJ’s for my Door County wedding this September!
