Door County Real Wedding — A Destination Close to Home

Tan suits seems to be a theme this week. The fresh touches of yellows and dusty grays along with the gorgeous scenery at the Woodwalk Gallery makes for a spectacular Door County wedding that we’ll know you’ll enjoy. Beautifully captured by Depere based Erin Jean Photography, here are a few words that set the stage:

From the Photographer … Sally and Jon’s wedding was located in lovely Door County, Wisconsin. It’s a destination wedding location that is close to home. The guests were buzzing all night about this being the most gorgeous wedding they had ever attended! What a compliment to the couple.

I’m a big believer that it’s all in the details. Oh boy, did they have the details! From the dreamy dress to the barn/gallery venue — the perfect elements were everywhere. Woodwalk is an art gallery with an ever so charming barn. That’s where the couple danced the evening away. Before that, the guests were able to soak in the sunset as they played games in the green grass and rolling fields for the extended cocktail hour.

The character of this wedding is something only the photos can tell. I hope you enjoy the romance and photos as much as I do.

From the Bride … Our wedding was literally a dream come true! By some stroke of great luck, we ended up with the most perfect weather for our ceremony at Fish Creek Community Church and our reception at Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor. I wore a Watters silk organza gown with flower detail on the belt and my girls wore J. Crew silk chiffon navy dresses in various styles. Jon and the boys wore taupe colored Alfani suits with coordinating yellow and navy summer plaid ties. With our beautiful yellow and white flowers, everyone looked summery and wonderful!

When we first walked into Woodwalk Gallery, we knew it was the perfect spot for our wedding. The sun streaming in through the old barn walls together with the unique and creative art on the walls and in the gallery made for the perfect combination of rustic and elegant. The picture-perfect weather on our wedding day also allowed us to take advantage of some of the outdoor features that made us fall in love with Woodwalk Gallery in the first place… the outdoor patio tented for dining and the gorgeous meadow and sculpture garden. The barn and tent were decorated with beautiful lanterns, which gave the whole evening a very dreamy feel.

Jon and I both love to cook, so we were excited to see that our wonderful florist incorporated lemons, limes and kale leaves into the table décor. One of our favorite elements of the wedding was the photo booth, which made for some hilarious memories of the night. We can’t think of another time in our lives when we will have everyone we love in the same place at the same time. It was absolutely perfect.
